The London Fire Brigade’s Operation Centre is a critical 24/7 facility handling approximately 180,000 emergency calls and mobilising to 90,000 incidents annually across Greater London.

In April 2023, DAS was invited to participate in the ‘Control 2023 Brigade Control Redesign’ tender to overhaul the main control room, training suites, and supporting facilities at the London Fire Brigade Operation Centre in Merton, South London.

Following the success of our previous HM Coastguard Control Room project, DAS collaborated closely with LFB to refine the room layout, optimising visibility of the central digital map wall for all staff. Our design included bespoke height-adjustable OPTIMA Mk3 desks with integrated lighting, name plate holders, backup phone housings, and innovative CPU enclosures with sliding worktops for ease of IT access.

In addition, DAS supplied custom storage solutions, lockers, and recycling units manufactured at our UK facility, tailored to the specific needs of the centre.
Installation was completed in just five days in April 2024, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to operations.
